Telemarketing for Colleges Developing New Customers for Funded and Paid Courses

The Objective

With competition from other colleges, universities, charities and commercial organisations, most businesses now have a huge choice in who they use for their training.

With this increased competition, most colleges are now seeing the need to be proactive in their employer engagement routes and not relying solely on their reputation, location or repeated business. 

A college in the North West approached Projects to increase their employer engagements, and to generate appointments with local businesses with a need for staff training from a wide base of courses. 

In addition to the meetings, the specialist education sector telemarketing team Projects team also arranged for companies to visit the campus, either on a one to one basis or as part of open days. 

When the College ran seminars and events, they also utilised the team at Projects to raise awareness of the events and to increase attandance numbers by booking people onto the event.

Within a very short time, the College saw a significant increase in their engagement levels, generating new customers and securing additional sign ups from existing ones. 

The Brief

The initial brief to Projects was simply to increase the volume and success rates of the college's employer engagement activities, targeting companies within a 30 mile radius of the campus. 

The Projects team worked closely at all times with the course planners, to ensure the courses being promoted had student requirements and that as many courses as possible were being run at or near to capacity. 

The campaign worked alongside social media and email campaigns to increase the awareness of the courses through multiple marketing channels. 

With a proven route to market the college instigated a programme of telemarketing every quarter to keep the momentum in the campaign.
